The Technical Solutions Manager (Network Solution Architect) acts as a bridge between delivery and sales by assisting the sales organization to sell what we have the capability to deliver and ensuring the quality of the delivered solution once the business has been sold.  The Technical Solutions Manager (Network Solution Architect) is also responsible to contribute to the development and invention of new network solutions that delivery business value to ISM and its customers.
 
The Technical Solutions Manager(Network Solution Architect) reports to the Director, Business Solutions Group and interfaces with all affected stakeholders both internal and external to ISM Canada in a matrix environment. This role is subject to regular business working conditions and occasional travel is a requirement of the role. This role is also expected to evolve as ISM Canada’s business evolves.
 
Candidates must possess a University degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or an equivalent level of education and experience.  Successful candidates will be results oriented IT professionals with strong analytical and problem solving skills, coupled with proven interpersonal and communication skills.  They must have a demonstrated ability to deliver to client needs, often under tight timelines, to meet or exceed client expectations; and a deep knowledge and proven skills in network routing, switching and internet and cloud infrastructure.  A Technical Solutions Manager (Network Solution Architect) should have 7 or more years of experience in network support functions as well as 3 or more years in a network architecture role.  Cisco or Microsoft Certifications would be asset.
 
Responsibilities:
Delivery
         Provide quality assurance services on projects to ensure that the quality of delivered solutions reflects what was proposed.
         Put together enterprise network solutions within large complex organizations.
         Provide thought leadership and project advisory services to clients on a billable basis.
         Conduct technical interviews in conjunction with QA.
         Assist in the management of vendor alliances to position ISM as a leading service provider.
         Results oriented IT professionals with strong analytical and problem solving skills.
         Architect large scale network solutions to meet requirements of opportunity pursuits and projects.
         Create Architectural Artifacts for large small, medium and large scale solutions.
 
Coaching and Mentoring
         Provide training / coaching to other ISM architects to promote professional growth and ensure consistent delivery of quality solutions.
 
Sales and Marketing
         Provide opportunity pursuit services starting at awareness generation stage through to proposal and closing of the sale.
         Work closely with sales account teams to assist in the development of account plans and qualification of opportunities.
         Responsible for describing the solution, defining the approach and estimating in client proposals.
         Assist in the planning and execution of marketing events, including: seminars, speaking engagements, and authoring engagements to stimulate demand creation.
 
Knowledge Management
         Ensure that intellectual assets created during the delivery process are collected, evolved and captured in the knowledge base in a manner that is reusable and relevant.
•         Assist in the creation, collection and stewardship of intellectual assets to support sales.
 
Qualifications:
         Post-secondary education (Computing Systems or Business Diploma or Computer Science or Engineering Degree)
         7+ years of network IT experience in various delivery roles including network design, routing, switching and internet and cloud infrastructure
         3+ years working as a Network or IT Architect
         Wide knowledge of a selection of IT delivery methodologies (ITIL, TOGAF, RUP, Zachman, etc)
         Experience with delivering enterprise solutions within large complex organizations
         Track record of dealing with senior level executives
         Proven leadership and ability to drive teams
         Demonstrated ability to adapt and drive change
         Strong communication skills: verbal, written and interpersonal
         Strong analytical skills and ability to communicate complex ideas
         Proven experience managing and/or delivering similar services with increasing degree of responsibility and proven track record with the ability to execute according to plan.
         Experience should include high impact service delivery in a rapid paced, time sensitive, high quality environment.
•        Experience developing business relationships as well as managing and maintaining customer relationships.
