Chris has been the manager of joint interest operations for Imperial Oil’s upstream oil and gas business since mid-2010. In this role, Chris is an active member of the management committees for Syncrude, the Sable Offshore Energy Project and the Alaska Pipeline Project.
Chris joined Imperial in 1980 after graduating from the Technical University of Nova Scotia (now Dalhousie) with a degree in engineering. He held a variety of positions supporting the company’s conventional operations across Western Canada developing skills in wellbore completions, field operations and gas marketing. This led to an assignment in Melbourne, Australia in 1992 supporting Esso Australia’s onshore operations. In 1998, Chris assumed responsibility for all of Imperial’s conventional operations in Western Canada and then moved to a similar role responsible for Nova Scotia’s Sable gas operations in 2002. Chris returned to Calgary in 2005 to assume the position of planning manager responsible for strategic planning, acquisitions and divestments, land and commercial.
